The freeware program WoIstWer was written for a
hospital department that required an up-to-date overview of
the occupation of the examination rooms. To use it, you need
a networked Windows-PC in each room.
Normally, the program is hidden as an icon in the system tray. When a physician uses the room, he or she presses the Pause button, followed by one to three characters of a personal identifier. When the program identifies the person by comparison with its database, it immediately hides in the system tray, with the person and room turning up in an updated list. The Pause button can be used from within any open program, and you neither have to press Enter nor touch the mouse. The updated room list can be viewed at all connected network sides by pressing the pause button.
At midnight, all entries not starting with an asterisk are cleared, so you can keep a list of *away persons. Rooms and groups (physicians, nurses) are coded with customizable colors. With Auto Popup active, the list pops up whenever a person has checked-in at another site.
